Launched by the Lord Mayor, Alastair King in 2025, in collaboration with WCIT, the City Livery Company for the tech sector, the Tech Scale-up Showcase events are focused on accelerating economic growth within the City of London through technology innovation and strategic risk-taking, bringing together the UK's most innovative companies, promoted and supported by an ecosystem of investors, pension funds, corporate financiers, academics and mentors. Following two highly successful events in 2025, the programme is now expanding its scope and impact through 2026 and 2027.

WCIT has over 750 members, aged between 24 and 90, active in the broad tech sector, covering start-ups, scale-ups, global companies, public sector, academic institutions and the professions. Living and working across the UK and around the world, many have a link or connection with the City of London.
The WCIT Entrepreneurship Panel is honoured to have been asked to organise the Tech Scale Up Showcase events on behalf of the Lord Mayor. The Entrepreneurship panel is one of 25 special interest groups in the livery, with 18 panel members providing their services as Room Facilitators, Presenter Ambassadors, Promoter Ambassadors, and managing event operations.
WCIT represents the delightful intersection of the traditional with the new - a Modern Livery Company that has a Hall, an endowment, a Royal Charter, a Thames Cutter, a school, and which fully embraces social and other online media and organises unique formal and informal events for entertaining family, clients and guests in some of the finest venues in London.
